The Free Consultation

The Free Consultation

Part of joining me in the studio for a portrait, headshot, or personal branding session is the in-person pre-shoot consultation. With everyone having a busy schedule you might want to bypass this step but I assure you that’s something you don’t want to do.

We talk about four things in this consultation.

  • This is where we decide what type of photographs you want; are we going go artsy and create a very stylized shoot, or do you want a more traditional portrait? Who do you want to be photographed with?

  • We also talk about how you want your makeup done. There are so many different things we can do from classic looks to wild and crazy.

  • Then we talk about what you are going to wear. Rikki is an amazing stylist and we can do a bunch of different things. With most clients, we talk about what you own and what to bring. We can also make some suggestions about what you might want to buy. Do you have a girlfriend with a great wardrobe? Ask to borrow some things! We can go shopping with you. We can go through your closet. One client gave us a check and asked us to go buy her something and we surprised her.  It’s also possible for Rikki to design something specially for you. Some of these services cost a little more but we talk all about that in the consultation. Don’t forget we bring some things help your wardrobe pop.

  • We also talk about is money. We go through all of our pricing so you know exactly what it’s going to cost you. There are no surprises, no hidden costs. There are plenty of options to fit all sorts budgets. We also have payment plans if you need them!

Our consultations are free. We love doing them. It’s how we get to know each other and a good consultation almost always leads to better photographs. Let’s get together and chat. Give me a call at 310-220-5693 or shoot me an email at bcb@brianbielanski.com

Remember -- Exist in Photographs!

Every Journey Begins with One Step

“Every journey begins with one step.” That’s an Eastern proverb that’s so fitting for this blog. You might think my photographic journey is a recent departure but it is not.

It began in high school and I’ve had a camera in my hand ever since. Now after an amazing and successful career as a journalist, it’s time to make a change. I’ve have been a semi-professional photographer for years. I’ve decided what I want to do for my next chapter.
